We recieve all kinds of different questions and requests. Each bride’s unique style and ideas are so refreshing and we LOVE to be challenged with new designs.

One of the most recent (and so far the most unique) was Bree. First off, she very sweetly apologized for not wanting the traditional flower arrangments, as their wedding was very non traditional and was to be held at Silverstar in the winter. She then presented us with a picture; a bouquet made completly of PINECONES! - Right away the creative juices began to flow, and we stared to source pinecones of all varieties shapes and sizes. We had our supplier Heather scrambling to find just the right ones!

The construction of the bouquet ( and a construction it was, gluing hammering, wiring, and more gluing) was soo fun! Taking a lot of patience, and getting very sticky with sap, the final product was better than we had imagined. Pinecones, crystals…the perfect bouquet for an outdoor winter wedding. -Even Todd (the groom) recieved a specialty designed bouttoneire made of pinecones…although we hear he was somewhat skeptical of the whole ‘pinecone’ concept to begin with.

Thank you Bree and Todd for the honor of creating this bouquet for your special celebation.

A little something from the couple -

Dear Deb and Myoka,

Many people, including our families, thought we were crazy when we decided we did not want traditional flower arrangements for our wedding. We decided to go completely away from the norm and incorporate our love of the outdoors. We had chosen a winter wedding at Silver Star, and roses and calla lilies, while beautiful, just wouldn’t suit us. So we decided on pinecones.

When we told you what we wanted, you never batted an eyelid, and you encouraged us the whole way even when we started to doubt ourselves and our idea. But we are so glad you never let us sway from our original plan. The pinecone bouquet and boutonniere that you created for us was beyond what we had hoped for. They suited us and our snowy wedding theme perfectly. All of our guests loved the originality of our “flowers” and we received so many amazing comments. They may not have been what everyone would choose, but that’s the whole point. they were what we chose, and what we wanted, and we loved them. They really helped define our day and set the tone for our wedding.

They are now displayed on our fireplace mantel where we can look at them whenever we want and remember our amazing day, and we love them as much now as we did on our wedding day.

Thank you for helping to make it so special.
